India has approved more than 40 technology projects under the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS). According to Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, four major semiconductor facilities—including those by Tata Group and Micron—will transition from pilot stages to large-scale manufacturing in 2026, generating tens of thousands of jobs.
Why This Is Important:
This marks a critical validation for India’s semiconductor industrialization, positioning the country as a growing participant in global chip value chains.
